Senior Consultant, Data Architect

Job Description:

We are seeking experienced data architects to join our team. This is a senior position with extensive experience in designing and building data solutions using technologies implemented on Azure and on premises. Pragmatic Works’ data architects are skilled at designing relational and OLAP database solutions as well as the integration patterns used to load the data. As a data architect, you will work with customers to discover their business needs and design the solution that best meets those needs. Job Responsibilities

 

  • Design and implement cloud data solutions for our customers using the latest technologies available on Azure
  • Work with customers to determine the business use cases needed for the data solutions to be deployed
  • Build solutions using the best combination of relational, NoSQL and Hadoop data systems
  • Discover and model data from various data sources both on premises such as relational databases and cloud solutions such as Salesforce
  • Document end-to-end the data movement and data lineage used to create the final solution

 

Job Skills & Qualifications

 

Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer, engineering, data science or a related field; or work experience equivalent
  • Five or more years working with data and business intelligence solutions on the Microsoft tool stack (SQL Server, Power BI, or Azure)
  • Verbal and written skills to support data discovery and documentation
  • Experience with SQL Server technologies and Azure Data Services
  • Experience working with a variety of integration technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and SQL Server Integration Services

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Design Azure solutions for our customers to support their technology modernization efforts
  • Work with customers to determine the business use cases needed for the Azure solutions to be deployed
  • Plan and implement solutions for customers such as data center migrations, application migrations, and modernization efforts to the Azure cloud
  • Conduct Azure scaffolding projects which assess and advise customers on the current state of their Azure implementation and recommend changes based on the discoveries

  • Creating Power BI solutions for customers including mashups, modeling, and visuals
  • Conduct customer discovery meetings to determine reporting requirements
  • Working with data source team members to support performance improvements and data quality

Job Skills & Qualifications

 

Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer, engineering, data science or a related field; or work experience equivalent
  • Five or more years working with data and business intelligence solutions on the Microsoft tool stack (SQL Server, Power BI, or Azure)
  • Experience creating complete Power BI report solutions based on business questions with linked content, drilldowns, and nested parameters; other BI and report tool experience is a plus
  • Ability to gather requirements and conduct focus groups to determine the processes needed to assist and grow the business

Candidate must also have a strong desire for continual learning and development and be willing to demonstrate examples of that in their career.
